Let it Rain – 21 Days of Prayer

As we draw near the end of our 21 Days of Prayer, I have been reflecting on some of the key themes that have emerged from our evenings together. Above all I have been extremely encouraged by the evident hunger of the church to seek God in a deeper way, with hundreds of people turning up night after night, even in the midst of some very stormy weather. On several occasions we have simply waited on God and prayed for one another to be filled with the Holy Spirit. There have been some powerful moments when He has met with individuals in a significant way. We have often found ourselves crying out to God for revival in our city, our nation, and to the ends of the earth, and as we have prayed and worshipped, the refrain Let it Rain has been sung and re-sung with passion.

Other highlights have included the youth band leading us in worship on two evenings. It was fantastic to see these young men and women growing in confidence and using their musical talents to bless the church. The future for our worship bands is looking bright! I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our fantastic worship team who have served us so well these last three weeks. Our times of worship have definitely been a high point.

I have also really appreciated the church praying for the wider Newfrontiers family. In the first week we had Donnie Griggs and two of his team from One Harbour Church in North Carolina with us, and it was great to pray for them and all that God has called them to in their part of the world. Over these three weeks, we have prayed for many different nations, and on one memorable evening people came up and prayed in different languages for God to move in the nation of their birth or heritage.

If you have not yet made it to a prayer evening, it’s still not too late to come along. There is a remarkable thing going on in our church and you don’t want to miss it. We gather again tonight at 7.00pm at each of our four sites and then as one church at the Catford site on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Let’s finish strong King’s!
