…because it is a witness to the world
‘Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.’ John 13:35 (NLT)
Jesus tells us to love one another because this is a witness to the world. It seems like most conversations about evangelism neglect this aspect. Building relationships, answering questions, sharing the truth of the gospel…these are important and essential elements of evangelism. But the world is looking for love more than anything else.
You know you can see much farther away than you can hear. And the world is watching us to see if we really love each other. They will see us long before they will hear us. And if they don’t like what they see, they’ll never stop to listen. A family that doesn’t love one another isn’t worth listening to, let alone joining.
Question to consider
How loudly do your actions speak about the love of God?
