…because it’s how we love God

‘Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.’ 1 John 4:20 (NIV)

We love God when we see each other the way God sees us. This means we stop judging others according to appearances and start viewing them from a heavenly perspective. The Bible says we should show love whenever we have the opportunity (Galatians 6:10), using every chance we get.

Were you aware that God is constantly placing people right in front of you so you can have these opportunities to demonstrate love? Today could mark a new beginning in your life as you open your eyes and begin looking for opportunities God sends your way.

Question to consider
What does the way you show love to others say about your love for God?

Prayer Point
Ask God to give you a heavenly perspective on the people you meet today.

These devotionals include edited extracts from the Better Together book by Rick Warren, with additional prayer points for King’s Church London. We are extremely grateful to Purpose Driven UK for permission to use the extracts.
