Watchnight!
Watchnight has become one of my favourite nights of the year. Before coming to King’s, New Year’s Eve was usually spent having a meal with friends – certainly a fun way to see in the New Year, but nothing can beat gathering as a church to worship and pray.
This year there will be Watchnight services at Catford from 9.30pm-12.30am, and at Downham and Lee from 10.30pm-12.30am. In addition to this, we have NYE, a New Year’s Eve event for our 17-30s group. All details can be found on our website.
What better way to see out 2016 and welcome in 2017 than by coming together to celebrate, pray and give thanks to God for his unfailing faithfulness to us? I look forward to seeing you there.
Looking beyond New Year's Eve, we begin 2017 at King’s in our normal way with a month focusing on prayer. Our preaching series for January is called Devoted and as a part of this we will be gathering as one church each Wednesday for an evening of worship and prayer. Our first celebration evening will be next Wednesday 4th January, 7.45-9.30pm on the Catford site. These are always great opportunities for our three sites to meet as one church, and I hope to see many of you there.
Finally, because we are all anticipating a late night on New Year’s Eve, there will be NO SERVICES AT KING'S CHURCH LONDON on Sunday 1st January 2017. Services on all sites will resume as normal on January 8th.
Happy New Year to you all.
