Easter, Zimbabwe and a Prayer Day

What an amazing Easter weekend we have just experienced together, with a number of people responding to the Gospel and many recommitments to Christ. I was particularly encouraged to see some of our young people putting their trust in Jesus. We have only recently added a second meeting at our Lee site, and it is great to see both meetings going really well.
Newfrontiers Travel
Deb and I are about to embark on another busy season of travel. We will be at King’s this Sunday, and then travel to Zimbabwe on Monday. This trip has been planned since last year, but has become a timely visit to meet up with and encourage friends at River of Life Church in Harare following Scott Marques’ recent cancer diagnosis. Scott is currently in South Africa where he is midway through his course of treatment. It will be strange to be in Harare without him, but we trust our time with River of Life and DNA will be fruitful. We will also be meeting with the Newfrontiers Together Team (a small international team who bring some co-ordination to the Newfrontiers Fellowship), to pray and plan for upcoming events with the Newfrontiers family. The trip to Zimbabwe will be quickly followed by flights west to the USA for the Advance conference, then east to Georgia in Europe. We would value your prayers for safe travel (and minimal impact of jet lag!) and that we would be an encouragement to all the amazing people we have the privilege of serving.
Pray for Scott Marques
Lastly, a date for your diaries: On Wednesday 24th April, between 7pm and 8pm, we will be holding a one church prayer meeting at our Catford site to pray for Scott Marques as he continues his treatment for cancer. The date has been set aside as a Newfrontiers Day of Prayer and Fasting for Scott, and our prayers will be joining with many others around the world who will also be praying that day. Scott is a great friend to King’s and we have had a fruitful partnership with River of Life Church in Harare for many years. It would be fantastic if you could join us on 24th April, when we will also be taking the opportunity to pray for others amongst us facing similar health challenges.
