31st January 2016
Welcome to these brief Transformed devotionals. For the full devotional and group study guide please buy a Transformed Workbook, available at the Welcome Desk or online for £7.
The aim of this compilation of daily verses and prayer points is to provide a link between the Sunday preaching series, group life and our personal walk with God. These are available weekly each Sunday in the news sheet, on the blog and on the free King's mobile app.
There are some suggestions for prayer for the week and each day there is a Bible verse for meditation and further study.
As you read, you may want to keep a simple journal of God’s word to you. A helpful way of doing this may be to consider the following points each time:
• What did you hear?
• What do you think?
• What will you do?
• Now talk to God…
TRANSFORMED IN MY SPIRITUAL HEALTH
THIS WEEK...TALK TO GOD – POINTS FOR PRAYER!
• Give thanks for the way Jesus has loved you and gave His life for you.
• Pray for those you know who are suffering, whether through illness, work, family or those in the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ.
• Pray for groups in King’s, that as they are established, people will find authentic friendship and a place to be ‘transformed’ and made more like Jesus.
DAY 1 – 31st January
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)
DAY 2 – 1st February
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. John 1:12-13 (NIV)
DAY 3 – 2nd February
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 (KJV)
DAY 4 – 3rd February
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
DAY 5 – 4th February
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT)
DAY 6 – 5th February
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (NIV)
DAY 7 – 6th February
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39 (NIV)
