Christmas, Watchnight and 21 Days of Prayer

CAROL SERVICES
Last Sunday we hosted our first weekend of Carol Services at our Downham and Lee sites. They were outstanding as always, with a fantastic programme put together by our creative team. This Sunday, 22 December, we have five more opportunities for you to come along, at 10am, 12pm, 5pm and 7.30pm at the Catford site and 5pm at the Beckenham site. Our Lee and Downham sites will be hosting their Family Christmas Services. Everyone is welcome, and I look forward to seeing many of you there.

CHRISTMAS DAY
On Christmas Day itself we will gather to celebrate Christmas together at 10.30am at Catford, Downham and Lee for an hour-long, relaxed service. Please note there will be no service at Beckenham but do visit another site if that is where you normally go.

SUNDAY 29 DECEMBER
Join us in the morning on the last Sunday of the year to worship together and hear God's word. We will have our usual services at Catford (10am & 12pm), Downham (9.30am & 11.30am) and only one service at Lee (10.30am). There will be no service at Beckenham.

WATCHNIGHT
Watchnight is one of my annual highlights, and I can’t think of a better way of spending New Year's Eve than by coming together as God’s people to worship, pray and honour God’s name. This year, we will be holding Watchnight services at our Catford, Downham and Lee sites from 10pm to 12.30am. You will need to book (free) tickets for you and any guests to help us manage numbers. Catford is already fully booked so we would recommend booking into our service at Lee. Tickets are available now. Full details of everything that's happening at King's over Christmas and New Year are available on the events page of our website.

21 DAYS OF PRAYER
After the busyness of Christmas, I am looking forward to a few days off after New Year, but I am also very excited about what’s coming up in January. As has become our custom, at King's, we are starting off 2025 by calling the church to 21 Days of Prayer. From Monday 6 January until Sunday 26 January, we will gather for an hour at 7pm every day, for 21 consecutive days. We will meet at the Catford site each evening except Fridays, when we will meet at our different sites (Beckenham will meet at Harris Institute of Teaching in New Beckenham). 2025 will be an important year for King’s, as we begin the process of transitioning the leadership of the church from me to Joe Macnamara, so we have lots to pray about. Please come and join us as we worship, pray and wait upon God together.

Until then, have a very happy Christmas and a joyful New Year.
