The Blessing of Family
Deb and I have just returned from a lovely family holiday in France. The generations were well represented, with us, our three sons and two of our daughters-in-law (unfortunately Sam’s wife Grace was unable to join us as she is touring in the musical Hairspray at the moment!), our two grandchildren, Isaac who is four and Lucy, just three months old, plus my mum, Eileen. Having young children around definitely makes for a more active holiday than we’ve perhaps grown used to in recent years, but it was wonderful to spend time together. A highlight for me was playing golf with Ben, Josh and Sam one morning. I’m glad to say I can still hold my own!
Family is a huge blessing, and this coming Sunday we are looking forward to being back with our church family of King’s. September marks the beginning of a new church year and we have many exciting gospel opportunities before us. This week Andrew Wilson will be rounding off our Proverbs series with a message on Proverbs 31, which I’m looking forward to hearing. I hope to see you there.
