King's Summer Picnic

After a busy season of travel, and with no more ministry trips on the horizon until October, Deb and I are now looking forward to being at King’s across the summer. This last Sunday I was able to visit all four of our venues and attend at least part of every meeting. It was very encouraging to see the church thriving wherever I went, and to share in great times of worship, meet new people and hear God’s word preached. I hope you are enjoying our 1 Samuel series, but if you have missed any Sundays, you can catch up here. And don’t forget our Teaching Pastor, Andrew Wilson, will be running a 1 Samuel Seminar on Tuesday 18 June for anyone interested in exploring this book in even greater depth.

One of the reasons I like to get to as many of our sites as possible on a Sunday, is that it gives me a view of King’s as a whole. We have noticed over the years that people tend to experience King’s through the lens of the venue and meeting they normally attend, and it can be easy to lose sight of the fact that we are part of a bigger community. That’s one reason it’s so good to come to the Church Picnic - you get an opportunity to see the church beyond the site you attend. It’s also a lot of fun, with games, sporting competitions, a bouncy castle, food vendors and ice cream. No tickets are required, just come along to Ladywell Arena on Sunday 30th June between 1 and 5pm and bring your picnic (there will also be food available to buy). I shall look forward to seeing you there.
