Time Flies
Last week marked the first anniversary of my father’s death. It has come round so quickly. I still occasionally find myself thinking that I must give him a call and tell him our latest news, only to remember once again that he is no longer with us but has gone to glory. My mum has been remarkable throughout this last year, and I am very grateful to Martin and Dawn, my brother and sister-in-law who live around the corner from Mum, who have supported her superbly.
After a lot of overseas visits in the autumn term of 2023, we have enjoyed being at home in London for the majority of the last three months. It has been great to spend time with family, and seeing our local church thrive is such an encouragement. Our 21 Days of Prayer was a real highlight and on the final Sunday evening hundreds of people crowded into our Catford auditorium to worship and pray - definitely a stand out moment for me.
Deb and I are now entering another season of travel. This last weekend we were in Stratford-Upon-Avon where we spoke at the UK Advance lead elders and wives conference. It was great to reconnect with some old friends, and we enjoyed getting to know some of the Advance leaders we hadn’t met before. Over the next three months our trips will take us to parts of Asia, Africa and America. Visiting churches in many different parts of the world is a huge privilege, but it is demanding at times, and we greatly value your prayers as we go.
